I'M Scott Markowitz

Do you believe in love at first click?

As a Senior in High School, I took an Introduction to Photography class. From the time I developed that first print, the art of taking photos has captured my heart.

I have trained in various photographic techniques so I can best capture the stunning beauty found in our natural world. In fact, I have made visual storytelling my life's work. From being a media manager and editor for CNN in Atlanta to being co-creator and lead editor of Dinner: Impossible for the Food Network, and being a top-level commercial editor for several ad agencies and PR firms- my work has always been telling stories through a visual medium.

The work I'm most passionate about, however, is my nature photography. Whenever I plan a field trip, My intent is to bathe myself in the stunning beauty of our natural world and capture it for others to enjoy.

The locations that I love most (so far) are Costa Rica, North Carolina, and Florida.

Inspiration

Birds. With their amazing diversity and the knowledge that they have conquered every continent on Earth, I am simply stunned by how beautiful they can be. The tremendous diversity that is found in our natural world inspires me, however the birds are particularly spellbinding.

Techniques

I have studied photography for over 40 years, and have developed a classic nature photographer's technique. What that means is that I keep the sun at my back, and I remain patient, present, and always ready to get the shot.

career highlights

I have been lead video editor for Dinner:Impossible and Restaurant:Impossible for the Food Network. As a commercial editor, I have won several Addy awards. Currently, I'm the official photographer for the CBIA in Naples, Fl as well as the official photographer for Moorings Anchor Magazine in Naples, FL.
